Initiatives Towards Achieving a Decarbonized Society
(Awareness of Climate Change)
The impacts of climate change are becoming more severe each year, placing significant pressure on the environment, society, and the daily lives and business activities of people around the world.
In response to this growing crisis, global efforts to limit temperature rise through the realization of a decarbonized society have accelerated and become a major international trend.
The Paris Agreement, adopted at COP21, set a shared global goal of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions so as to keep the increase in the global average temperature well below 2℃ above pre-industrial levels, while pursuing efforts to limit the temperature rise to 1.5℃.
Achieving this requires fundamental structural transformation, along with large-scale public and private investment in decarbonization. Expectations for the role of the private sector—alongside national governments—are increasing, and corporate initiatives that contribute to a decarbonized society through business activities have become an urgent priority.
The Japanese government has declared its aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, effectively reducing GHG emissions to net-zero. At subsequent meetings, including the Global Warming Prevention Headquarters and the UN Climate Action Summit, the government announced an ambitious milestone: a 46% reduction in GHG emissions by FY2030 compared to FY2013, while continuing efforts to reach the 50% level.
(Our Initiatives)
We recognize that climate change poses significant risks to global ecosystems, human society, and business activities, while also presenting new business opportunities. Contributing to a decarbonized society is therefore one of our most important management priorities in pursuing sustainable growth.
We have long provided products and services that help reduce environmental impact, and we will continue to promote these efforts. In addition, we have formulated several sustainability-related policies—including our Sustainability Basic Policy—and published them on our website.
As a starting point for strengthening our initiatives, our Board of Directors resolved to set GHG emission reduction targets—namely, a 46% reduction by FY2030 compared to FY2013, as presented by the government, and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050—and, with the aim of first gaining an overall understanding of our emissions, to begin calculating supply-chain emissions from October 2024.
In conducting these calculations, we will comply with the internationally recognized GHG Protocol and will begin sequentially with business sites and categories for which numerical quantification is feasible, covering the following:
・Scope 1: Direct emissions from company activities (fuel combustion, industrial processes)
・Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heat, and steam
・Scope 3: Other indirect emissions from value-chain activities not included in Scopes 1 and 2
By visualizing emission levels, we will be able to revisit reduction targets and identify areas where reductions should be prioritized. Based on this understanding, we will proactively design and implement initiatives such as energy-efficiency measures, expanded use of renewable energy, and the development of new products and services.
We will also continue to provide employee education and awareness programs to foster a strong sustainability mindset, while engaging in dialogue with suppliers and other stakeholders to promote collaborative GHG reduction efforts across the value chain.
(FY2024 Results)
Based on the above policy, for FY2024 (October 2024 to September 2025), we calculated Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 Categories 6 (Business Travel) and 7 (Employee Commuting) for the following sites encompassing our operations: the Head Office, Osaka Branch, Hokkaido Sales Division, Kyushu Office, Niigata Office, and Sendai Office.
The results are as follows:
・Total: 226.71 t-CO₂
(Breakdown)
• Scope 1: 179.57 t-CO₂
• Scope 2: 44.65 t-CO₂
• Scope 3 (Categories 6 & 7): 2.49 t-CO₂
In addition to our own energy-saving initiatives, the reduction in Scope 2 emissions is attributable to the use of renewable electricity with a zero CO₂ emission factor in the buildings where our Head Office and Osaka Branch are located.
We will continue to expand the scope of our assessments, improve calculation accuracy, and enhance information disclosure in a phased manner.
Environmentally Conscious Procurement
Basic Policy on Sustainable Procurement

In our commitment to realizing a sustainable society, we consider environmental conservation, resource protection, safety, and human rights, fulfilling our corporate social responsibility.

Therefore, we ensure that this policy is thoroughly communicated and adhered to within the company, with each employee complying with it. We also strive to build even stronger relationships by gaining the understanding and cooperation of our business partners.
- Promoting Fair and Equitable Transactions
